Land Use, Agri-food And Sustainable Bio-economy Orchester at Climate-KIC

Saskia Visser is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainable land use, climate neutrality, and agricultural innovation. Currently serving as the Land Use, Agri-food, and Sustainable Bio-economy Orchestrator at Climate-KIC since September 2022, Saskia focuses on implementing innovations for climate-resilient regions. Previously, as the Head of Program "Circular and Climate Neutral" at Wageningen University & Research, leadership roles included Program Leader at AgroCares and Program Leader in Sustainable Land Use at Wageningen Environmental Research. Noteworthy contributions involved developing research lines on Soil Health and Climate Smart Land Use and transforming scientific knowledge into practical applications for policymakers and industry stakeholders. Earlier roles included Team Leader for 43 scientists at Alterra, Advisor for Organizational Development at Flevo-landschap, and Assistant Professor at Wageningen University. Saskia holds an MSc in Physical Geography specializing in land degradation from Utrecht University and a PhD in Erosion Modeling from Wageningen University & Research.
