Rachel Smithers is an experienced professional in the materials science and engineering field, currently serving as Section Manager - Quality at Cleveland-Cliffs since July 2022. Previously, Rachel held positions as Senior Metallurgical Engineer at ArcelorMittal from December 2017 to November 2022, and Quality Manager at Dura-Bond Pipe for a brief period in 2017. Additionally, Rachel has significant tenure at ArcelorMittal, where responsibilities included managing the rail finishing and shipping department, overseeing front-line supervisors and a large team of operators. Rachel's engineering expertise is supported by roles as a Metallurgical Engineer at both International Steel Group and Bethlehem Steel. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Penn State University and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from The Johns Hopkins University.
