Emily Cole is currently the Philanthropic Advisor at Cleveland Play House. Emily has previous experience as the Director of Alumni Engagement at Oberlin College from May 2019 to March 2022. In this role, they lead broad alumni engagement efforts and a team tasked with regional and career-related programming, affinity programming, departmental/faculty outreach, volunteer engagement and special events, and alumni travel program. Additionally, Cole was responsible for managing all alumni communications strategies which included printed and electronic pieces, social media platform management, and online engagement platforms.

Cole has a passion for philanthropy and helping others. Emily is currently using their skills and experience to advise the Cleveland Play House on philanthropic efforts. In their previous role at Oberlin College, they were responsible for executing a strategy and coordinating regional alumni events in alignment with Oberlin’s mission and alumni engagement goals. This included focus on regions with large alumni populations and management of programing driven by a tiered approach. Cole is an effective communicator and leader, demonstrated by their success in managing and coaching direct reports as well as coordinating engagement efforts across the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving team.

Emily is a strategic thinker with a collaborative approach that has resulted in positive outcomes for their previous employer. Cole’s experience makes their an asset to any organization seeking guidance on how to best engage and communicate with their alumni base.

Emily Cole received their Master of Arts in Education from Cleveland State University and their Bachelor of Arts in Art Theirtory from The College of Wooster. Emily also attended Saint Thomas Aquinas High School.
