David is a Managing Director and a leader of the Clinical Documentation Improvement practice and has responsibility for the Human Resources/People function at Claro Healthcare in collaboration with the Chief People Officer. David also has responsibility for the development and growth of the Outpatient CDI Service Line, which scope encompasses a large part of the mid revenue cycle. David specializes in healthcare performance improvement and has over 25 years of experience consulting with healthcare providers to improve organizational performance and deliver sustainable bottom-line results. David’s experience includes operational improvement, end to end revenue cycle improvement, clinical documentation improvement programs, inpatient and outpatient revenue enhancement, strategic pricing, supply standardization, charge capture, working capital management, and receivables acceleration.
David has worked with over 150 healthcare providers ranging from small rural facilities to large urban academic medical centers to large multi-hospital health systems. David recently led a broad engagement with a large academic health system that has generated over $75M in annual net revenue improvement and supported the Top 10 health system national designation. David is proud to work with providers to support operational improvement that reinvests in their health systems and allows them to continually improve how they best serve their communities.
David holds an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management with majors in Health Industry Management and Finance and a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University.
