Tim Kirley joined the Claremont Graduate University Board of Trustees in 2014 and has served as the chair of the Investments and the Business and Finance committees as well as serving on the Strategic Planning Committee and the Presidential Search Committee. He was appointed Board of Trustees Chair in 2018.
Kirley’s experience in the financial services industry spans more than 35 years in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States with the financial services firm Edward Jones. He retired in June 2018 after leading the firm’s Canadian operations and serving on its Management and Executive Committees.
Kirley first joined Edward Jones in 1983 and was involved with the firm’s growth in Michigan and assumed responsibility for Southern Michigan, including the Detroit metropolitan area. In 1994 he was named a principal and was invited to the St. Louis headquarters to assume responsibility for various marketing initiatives. Kirley also served on the Grassroots Political Action Task Force and the Hiring and Recruiting Task Force.
Three years later Kirley relocated to the United Kingdom to establish the firm’s former United Kingdom affiliate, Edward Jones Limited. From 2004 through 2010, he led the firm’s U.K. business and served on the Edward Jones Management and Executive Committees. In 2010, he returned to the United States, where he served as the firm’s Chief Strategy Officer until assuming responsibility for Canadian business until his retirement in June 2018.
Kirley is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics. He earned an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 1997.
