Mark Goetz is a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as the GIS Director at Civix since September 2019, Mark has previously held significant positions including Data Standard Subcommittee Chair for the Connecticut GIS Network and GIS Director for the Connecticut Metropolitan Council of Governments, where Mark led a $1.4 million regional GIS project. With a history of fostering collaboration among GIS users as President of the Connecticut GIS User to User Network and expertise in managing and mentoring technical staff at Burns & McDonnell, Mark brings a robust background in developing GIS data standards, systems, and applications. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology, a GIS Certificate, and a Project Management Certificate from institutions including the University of Connecticut and Charter Oak State College.
