Maya Wiley's work experience includes being the President and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights since March 2022. From October 2020, they also held the role of Former Candidate for NYC Mayor. Prior to that, they were the Henry J. Cohen Professor at The Milano School of Management, Policy & Environment at The New School starting from July 2016. Maya also served as a University Professor and the Senior Vice President for Social Justice at The New School. In addition, they worked as an NBC News & MSNBC Legal Analyst for MSNBC, starting from August 2018. Maya Wiley has also held positions such as Co-Chair of the School Diversity Working Group and Chair of the NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board. Maya had extensive experience in the Mayor's Office, City of New York as the Counsel to the Mayor, where they were also appointed as the City's Director of Minority/Women Business Enterprises. Maya has also been a member of the Procurement Policy Board and the Fund for the City of New York.

Maya Wiley attended Dartmouth College from 1982 to 1986, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled in Columbia Law School from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a Juris Doctor degree.
