Chanel Sherrod serves as a Government Affairs Manager at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights since January 2022. Previous experiences include a Legal Intern position at Intuit, where Chanel conducted a mock investigation and researched labor unions in the tech industry, and as a Student Attorney at the Human and Civil Rights Clinic, contributing to an Amicus Curiae brief for the Supreme Court. Chanel also held internships at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, focusing on civil rights memoranda, and Street Law, Inc., where research and lesson preparation were key responsibilities. Additionally, Chanel worked as a Student Editor for The Charlotte Observer, ensuring content quality, and served as a Preceptor at the University Center for Academic Excellence at UNC Charlotte, facilitating Africana Studies classes. Educational background includes a Doctor of Law from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
