Tushara Canekeratne

Tushara Canekeratne is a global leader and entrepreneur with 25+ years of broad and deep experience in information technology industry with an emphasis on enterprise software development, scaling and growing global companies from ground up, global operations excellence in people, process and technology innovation, and customer focus and value. She has focused on building strong global teams, developing leadership and international relationships, and implementing global models to support business needs with quality and excellence, while managing to overall revenue growth and profitability. Tushara is an investor in early stage companies, and an advocate for education and young leaders.

In 2006, Tushara founded Nadastra, Inc. and has served as CEO since inception. Nadastra, Inc. is a knowledge-driven global services company. In 1996, Tushara co-founded Virtusa Corporation and served as executive vice president of global technical pperations. Virtusa is a public company and a global provider of software development and IT services. In 1989, Tushara was a founding member of INSCI Corporation, a supplier of digital document repositories and integrated output management products and services and served in several leadership roles.

Tushara is presently an investor in several early stage companies, including Converge Ventures Partners in Massachusetts. In addition, she remains a shareholder at Virtusa Corporation.

Tushara serves as a member of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Advisory Council, finance and audit committee at City Year, Harvard Graduate School of Education Dean’s Leadership Council and Learn to Change the World campaign co-chair & executive committee, Harvard University Campaign executive committee, and Advanced Leadership Initiative Coalition steering committee.

Tushara holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and mathematics (1988) and received an honorary degree of Doctor of the University (2015) from Loughborough University (UK). She is a 2015 Advanced Leadership Fellow and 2016 Senior Advanced Leadership Fellow, Harvard University, and a 2017 Distinguished Career Institute Fellow and 2018 Distinguished Career Institute Continuing Fellow, Stanford University.
