Rachel Stephenson serves as the Chief Transformation Officer at The City University of New York since June 2009, where efforts focus on improving student outcomes through strategic partnerships and innovation. With a strong background in academic strategy and operations, Rachel has led several transformative initiatives, including the redesign of academic programs, the expansion of anti-hate initiatives, and the development of Black, Race, and Ethnic Studies. Prior positions include Assistant Vice Chancellor roles overseeing strategic partnerships and academic strategy, where Rachel implemented significant programs addressing diversity, student health, and workforce development. Rachel's earlier experience includes directing educational programs and fostering partnerships at Central Park Conservancy and Legal Outreach. Rachel holds an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from Columbia University and a BA in English from Trinity University.
