Eston Melton is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in various roles, currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at the City Schools of Decatur since July 2016. Previously, Eston held the position of Assistant Principal at Palo Alto Unified School District from July 2013 to February 2016 and at Fairfax County Public Schools from August 2004 to June 2013, where responsibilities included supervising technology, custodians, and the English department. Eston also played a key role as an IB Coordinator, facilitating the implementation of a significant IB program and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. As an English and journalism teacher, Eston advised award-winning student publications and contributed to curriculum development. Additionally, Eston served as an Adjunct Faculty member at George Mason University, instructing future IB educators. Eston holds a Master’s degree in Secondary English Education and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology, both from the University of Virginia.
