Eric Maywar is an experienced professional in economic development, currently serving as an Economic Development Specialist for the City of Trenton since July 2015, where Eric focuses on business attraction, retention, and expansion, notably launching the acclaimed Shop Trenton Campaign. As the owner of Classics since April 2000, Maywar received recognition as Business of the Year by the Trenton Council of Civic Associations in 2008. Previous roles include Research Project Manager at Educational Testing Service, where management of multiple research projects occurred, and Director of the Downtown Trenton Project, focusing on attracting retail to the downtown area. Maywar has a strong community service background, evidenced by past positions with Passage Theatre and the Trenton Downtown Association, and holds a Master's degree in Fiction from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor's degree in English and Sociology from Kalamazoo College.
