The City of Sumner's vision is to set the standard of excellence for a progressive small city.  Every day, we provide needed and valued services that promote our sense of community.  These services include police; parks; water, sewer and storm utilities; cemetery; planning; permits; finance and administration.  

Sumner, known as the Rhubarb Pie Capital of the World, is a city of 9,400 residents and over 10,000 jobs.  The community feels like home with a classic Main Street, numerous parades, high school located in the center of town, and the largest YMCA in the State of Washington, built in 2015.  This is where local gossip is served up along with your lunch; where citizens are highly involved in making the community better; and where the marching band practices through the streets on weeknights.

The Engineering Team at the City of Sumner is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing infrastructure projects that enhance the community's quality of life. This includes managing water, sewer, and storm utilities, as well as ensuring compliance with city regulations and facilitating development services. By collaborating with other departments and community stakeholders, the team works to maintain and improve public infrastructure, support urban planning initiatives, and promote sustainable growth in the city.
