Jason Denton, CPA, currently serves as Controller for the City of Sterling Heights, where responsibilities include developing financial policies and analyzing revenue trends for informed decision-making. Prior to this role, Jason was an Assurance Senior at Plante Moran from August 2017 to May 2022, performing comprehensive audit services and contributing to business expansion efforts while supervising junior associates. Earlier experience includes serving as Operations Supervisor for Community EMS, overseeing emergency medical teams and analyzing operational metrics, as well as a tenure as an Airborne Infantry Team Leader in the US Army. Jason holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting with a Concentration in Assurance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a Minor in Finance from Oakland University, along with multiple Associate’s Degrees from Oakland Community College.
