Samantha Bequer is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as the Public Information Officer for the City of St. Petersburg since September 2024. Previously, Samantha held the role of Communications Director at the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation from June 2022 to September 2024 and before that at the Florida Division of Emergency Management from October 2019 to June 2022. Additional experience includes positions at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity as a Communications Coordinator and at Visit Orlando as a Global Communications Assistant. Early career roles include a Communications Intern with Orange County Government and editorial internships with both VS Media Group, Inc. and aXis Magazine & Promotions. Samantha began career in journalism as a Freelance Reporter for Central Florida Future. Educationally, Samantha earned a Master of Science in Political Science from Florida State University, following a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida.
