Rolf Nelson has extensive work experience in the field of law enforcement. In 1984, they served as a Sergeant in the Military Police Corps in the US Army until 1987. From 1987 to 1990, they worked as a Police Officer in the University of Houston - Central Police Department. In 1990, they joined the Harris County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff and later held various positions including Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Major. During their tenure, they gained experience in patrol supervision, crime scene management, traffic accident investigation, homicide investigations, and training roles. Additionally, Rolf worked as an International Police Trainer at DynCorp International from 2005 to 2006. Currently, they serve as the Chief of Police at the City of Seabrook, TX, a position they started in September 2023.
Rolf Nelson's education history includes a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University, which they obtained from 2018 to 2022. Before that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Midwestern State University, from 2008 to 2014. In 2013, Rolf participated in the Leadership Development Institute Graduate program, and in 2012, they completed the FBI - National Academy's Class #249. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Certified Protection Professional from ASIS International. In 2001, Rolf pursued a short-term program in Accident Reconstruction at Northwestern University.
