Todd Tuggle

Todd Tuggle has extensive work experience in the fire and emergency management field. Todd currently serves as the Fire Chief for the City of San Luis Obispo since 2022. Prior to that, they were the Fire Chief for the City of Santa Maria starting in 2021 until 2022. Todd also held the role of Deputy Chief in the Santa Maria Fire Department from 2020 to 2021.

In addition, Todd has experience in CALFIRE and Fresno Fire. Todd served as a Situation Unit Leader for CALFIRE IMT 3 from 2015 to 2021. Previously, they were a Battalion Chief for Fresno Fire from 2014 to 2020.

Before their roles in fire departments, Todd worked in the CALFIRE Incident Management Team 3 as a Geographic Information Systems Specialist from 2009 to 2015. Todd was responsible for supervising the GIS team, producing maps, and managing GIS resources for incident objectives.

Todd's earlier experience includes being the Battalion Chief of the Technical Services Unit and a Fire Captain / Homeland Security Emergency Management Officer for Fresno Fire Department from 2003 to 2014. Todd managed IT, GIS, and database professionals, supervised the Communications Specialty Team, and oversaw various projects like integration of CAD, RMS, and staffing software.

Todd Tuggle obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biology with a focus on Biotechnology from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
