Timothea Tway, AICP has a diverse range of work experience in the field of urban planning and development. Starting in 2008, they interned at organizations such as Strategic Development Solutions and Smart Growth America, gaining practical experience in community development and vacant properties campaigns. In 2009, they worked as a GIS Research Assistant at the University of Southern California, conducting field data collection and analyzing data using ArcGIS. Timothea then moved on to Cal Poly State University, where they served as a Teaching Assistant for graduate level urban planning and design courses, contributing to the editing and preparation of community plans and reports.

In 2011, Timothea worked as a Consultant for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and in 2012 they joined the City of Beverly Hills, where they held various roles including Assistant Planner, Associate Planner, Senior Planner, Principal Planner, City Planner, and eventually Director of Community Development. During their time at the City of Beverly Hills, they gained extensive experience in city planning and development, overseeing projects and policies related to community development.

Currently, Timothea is working at the City of San Luis Obispo as the Community Development Director. Overall, their work experience showcases their expertise in urban planning, community development, policy development, and GIS analysis.

Timothea Tway, AICP, holds a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning, which they obtained from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California's USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Planning, and Development from 2005 to 2009. Timothea Tway also holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Management, and Planning from the University of Southern California, which they obtained during the same period. Timothea completed their high school education at San Luis Obispo High School. Additionally, in 2016, Timothea Tway obtained the AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) certification.
