Shawna Scott has extensive experience in urban and environmental planning, currently serving as the Utilities Special Projects Manager for the City of San Luis Obispo since August 2016, after progressing through roles as Senior Planner and Associate Planner in the city's Community Development Department. Prior to this, Shawna worked at SWCA Environmental Consultants from May 2001 to August 2016 as the Planning Team Lead and Project Manager, specializing in CEQA and NEPA compliance, project management, and drafting environmental documents. Earlier professional experience includes a role as a Planning Technician at the County of San Luis Obispo from 1998 to 2001, where responsibilities included preparing Initial Studies and processing use permits. Shawna holds a B.S. in Forestry and Natural Resources Management from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
