Mariana Chavez-Vazquez is a highly experienced professional in the field of civil and environmental engineering, currently serving as the General Manager for the City of San José since January 2014. Prior roles include Assistant Director and Deputy Director in the Environmental Services department, where management of a $1 billion Capital Improvement Program for the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility was a key responsibility. Earlier career positions included Principal Engineer at the City of San José and Senior Engineer at Black & Veatch, as well as Project Engineer roles at Earth Tech and KMK Consultants. Mariana holds a Master of Engineering in Civil/Environmental from the University of Toronto and a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
