James Birlew is an experienced sports official with a diverse background in umpiring and refereeing. Since August 2010, James has served as an umpire for Rainbow Fields, demonstrating skills in maintaining position, effective communication with fellow umpires, and time management during games. Since January 2004, James has also been a referee for the City of Ripon, overseeing soccer games for youth players, managing game flow, and instructing participants on the rules of the sport. Additionally, James has officiated for Ripon Babe Ruth since January 2004. Academically, James holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of the Pacific, attended from 2011 to 2014, and previously studied at Modesto Junior College from 2008 to 2011.
