Penny Wirsing is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in engineering, environmental management, and community service. Currently serving as a Commissioner for the Redondo Beach Library Commission and an active member of Soroptimist International of Manhattan Beach, Penny has made significant contributions to improving the lives of women and girls through various fundraising and STEM education initiatives. As a Past President and Fellow of the Society of Women Engineers, Penny has held multiple leadership roles, driving strategic initiatives and financial oversight. Penny's former roles include Environmental Manager at Torrance Refining Company and Environmental Section Supervisor at ExxonMobil, where compliance and mentorship were key focuses. Additionally, Penny has served on the Board of Directors for Pediatric Therapy Network and Su Casa, advocating for children's development and victims of domestic abuse, respectively. Educational background includes a BS in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Washington.
