Derek Blais is an experienced professional in parks and recreation management, currently serving as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Moose Jaw since January 2019, where responsibilities include providing strategic direction and oversight for parks, open spaces, and recreational programs. In addition to this role, Derek Blais is a Director for Cities on the Board of Directors for the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association, beginning in October 2023. Prior experience includes serving as the Recreation Manager for the City of Prince Albert from June 2014 to December 2018 and holding various roles at Hockey Canada from May 2007 to June 2014, including Manager of Hockey Operations and Coordinator of Men’s National Teams. Derek Blais holds a Bachelor of Applied Business and Entrepreneurship in Sport and Recreation from Mount Royal University and a Professional Leadership Certificate from the University of Regina.
