William Rothschild

Management Employees Association President at City of Monterey

William Rothschild has a diverse work experience in the field of fitness management, physical therapy, and education. William began their career as a Fitness Coordinator at The City of Monterey in 1995 and eventually became the Fitness Manager. In this role, they managed various departments, supervised staff, developed community outreach programs, and implemented marketing and social media strategies. William also served as the Public Information Officer for the City during emergency situations and participated in budget, outreach, and strategic planning committees. Additionally, they assumed the position of Management Employees Association President and Interim Sports Center Manager/Fitness Manager during their tenure at the City of Monterey.

In 2010, William joined CSU Monterey Bay as a Faculty member, and they started working at the College of the Siskiyous in 1987. At both institutions, they taught various subjects including physical education, speech, communications, writing, and English. William also served as the Head Coach for men's and women's cross country and track & field teams at the College of the Siskiyous. Moreover, they assumed leadership positions such as President of the Faculty Association and was involved with the CCA Board.

William Rothschild obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of the Pacific in the years 1979-1984. William went on to pursue a Master's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the same institution from 1984-1986. Later, from 2016-2018, they obtained a Master's degree in Parks and Recreation, Tourism, and Hospitality Management from California State University - East Bay. In addition, they have acquired various certifications, including CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers from the American Red Cross in July 2019, Certified Parks and Recreation Professional from the National Recreation and Park Association in September 2018, and a Certified Pool and Spa Operator from the National Swimming Pool Foundation in August 2017.
