Dong Hyun Chon, PhD, PE, is an experienced wastewater management professional currently serving as Wastewater Manager for the City of Lompoc since September 2020, overseeing the management of wastewater treatment and collection systems. Previously, Dong Hyun Chon held the position of Wastewater Plant Operations Engineer for the City of Grand Island, where duties included supervising plant operations and process control adjustments. Roles also include R&D Engineer at Enviro-Tech Systems, Lead Treatability Engineer at Environmental Business Specialists, LLC, and various research positions at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, and Virginia Tech. Academic credentials include a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Master’s in Environmental Engineering Technology from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering Technology from Korea University.
