Maurice H Groce has extensive experience in both public service and the banking industry, currently serving as Commissioner-at-Large for the City of Kentwood since December 2018 and as Academy Liaison Officer at the West Michigan Aviation Academy since September 2012. Groce previously held the position of 2nd Ward Commissioner for the City of Kentwood from February 2012 to November 2013. In the banking sector, Groce worked as Vice President - Branch Manager at Mercantile Bank of Michigan from February 2006 to April 2011, where significant growth in accounts was achieved. Prior to this, Groce was a Financial Advisor at Prudential Financial, focusing on comprehensive financial planning. With a strong background in operations and management from Steelcase, Groce held various roles there from 1987 to 2002, culminating in a directorship in Supply Chain Management. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University, dual bachelor's degrees in Business Management and a Master’s in Organizational Development from Aquinas College, and an associate degree from Grand Rapids Community College in Drafting/Technology.
