Olga Chauke

Head Of Energy at City of Johannesburg

Olga Chauke serves as the Head of Energy for the City of Johannesburg since October 2022, where responsibilities include developing energy policies and coordinating alternative energy and efficiency measures. Previously, from April 2017 to September 2022, Olga held the position of Director of Climate Change Research and Analysis at the Department of Environmental Affairs, focusing on greenhouse data collection, emissions trajectory development, and climate change mitigation research. Additionally, Olga worked as Director of Climate Change and Energy Mitigation at the Department of Environmental Affairs from September 2012 to September 2022, and as Director of the Designated National Authority for the Clean Development Mechanism at the Department of Energy from January 2010 to September 2012. Academic qualifications include a BPhil in Sustainable Management and Planning from the University of Stellenbosch and an Honours Degree in Geography from the University of Witwatersrand.
