Dr. Tinashe Mushayanyama is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in policy development, research, and strategic planning within various sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Policy, Research & Partnerships for the City of Johannesburg since January 2009, responsibilities include facilitating strategic planning and developing anti-poverty strategies while guiding research to inform policy formulation. Prior roles include Deputy Director of Research & Strategic Information, Senior Researcher for Small & Medium Enterprises Development at the University of Johannesburg, and Project and Research Manager for Community Philanthropy at the University of Cape Town. Dr. Mushayanyama's early career involved significant contributions as an Economist in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, focusing on trade policy and investment opportunities. Academically, Dr. Mushayanyama holds a PhD from the University of Pretoria, a Master's in Agricultural Economics, a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Economics, and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Economics, complemented by a Diploma in Cost & Management Accounting.
