Meghan Simmons serves as the Manager of Economic Development for the City of Havre de Grace since February 2008, overseeing capital revitalization projects, providing outreach to property owners and potential business ventures, and identifying funding sources. Additionally, Meghan administers economic development incentives, assists HdG Main Street with grant writing, and advocates for relevant policies at both the City and State levels to enhance the business climate in Havre de Grace. Previously, Meghan worked as the Housing and Community Development Coordinator for the City of Aberdeen, acting as a staff liaison to the Economic Development Commission. Early career experience includes internships with the Town of Blacksburg, where facilitation of community meetings and cleanup projects occurred, and with Baltimore Main Street-Waverly, where collaboration with business owners on grants and promotional literature was key. Meghan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public and Urban Affairs from Virginia Tech.
