Sarah Vaira, MPPA, currently serves as the Environmental Specialist Supervisor for the City of Folsom, a position held since March 2022, previously functioning as a Senior Environmental Specialist. Prior experience includes a part-time role at the Western Placer Waste Management Authority from March 2021 to March 2022, and a tenure at Waste Connections from July 2018 to March 2021 as both a Sustainability Project Manager and Sustainability Coordinator. Notable projects involved collaboration on California's recycling and organic waste collection mandates. Sarah Vaira has also worked as a Technical Operations Manager for FdS Haiti, focusing on waste collection and recycling capacity, and as an Education and Outreach Coordinator for Waste Management in Western Washington, where initiatives included developing organics contamination reduction programs. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from California State University-Sacramento and a Bachelor's degree in Humanities for Leadership and Environmental Studies from Seattle University.
