Mohamed Alaoui, PE., TE., is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in public works and transportation engineering. Currently serving as the Director of Public Works for the City of Emeryville since September 2021, Mohamed previously held the position of Principal Civil Engineer for the City of Oakland from February 2004 to September 2021. In this role, Mohamed managed the Great Streets Delivery Division, overseeing a team of 71 FTEs and a project portfolio worth $250 million, along with various street and bridge projects totaling $117 million. Earlier experience includes positions as Supervising Civil Engineer and Project Manager within the City of Oakland, plus work as a Project Engineer at Jeco Consulting Engineers. Mohamed earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 2002.
