Maria Mercedes Galarza NCARB has a diverse background in architecture and sustainability, holding key positions such as Deputy Director and Manager of Strategic Partnerships in the Office of Sustainability for the City of Detroit, and Project Manager/Parks Planner within the General Services Department. Previous experience includes architectural design roles at Cooper Carry and Corgan Associates, as well as a Communications Assistant position at the University of Michigan College of Electrical Engineering. Additionally, Maria served as an Americorps Member with Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision. Maria's academic credentials include two degrees from the University of Michigan, completed between 2009 and 2012, complemented by professional certifications as an Associate AIA and SEED Certified.
