Gail A. Oxendine, CAPPP, has extensive experience in human resources management, particularly within the City of Detroit. Currently serving as Assistant Executive Director for the Detroit General Retirement System since June 2009, Gail A. Oxendine also held the position of Human Resources Director for the Detroit Police Department, overseeing comprehensive HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, and process improvement initiatives employing Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Previous roles include General Manager and various managerial positions, where achievements included successful project management of the Human Resources Management System, implementation of performance appraisal processes, and significant cost savings through the development of innovative programs. Gail A. Oxendine holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Sciences from The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and a certification in Public Plan Policy from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
