James Gorbin currently serves as the Deputy Building Official for the City of Culver City, a position held since March 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Principal at Primary Structures from July 2017 to March 2023, and Structural Plans Examiner for the City of Torrance from July 2012 to July 2017. James also worked as a Project Engineer at John A. Martin & Associates, Inc. from March 2006 to July 2012, and as a Structural Designer at Helou Structural Design from June 2005 to March 2006. Educational credentials include both a Master of Science in Structural/Earthquake Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UCLA.
