Melissa Tavares is an experienced Health and Family Consumer Science Teacher at the City of Chicopee, where responsibilities include educating 9th-12th grade students on health, nutrition, international foods and cultures, as well as food preparation and cooking techniques. Additionally, Melissa serves as a co-advisor for the class since 2017. Previous roles include working as a Nutritionist at the Community Action - Parent Child Development Center and holding positions as an Executive Assistant and Teller at Polish National Credit Union. During time at Springfield College, Melissa implemented wellness initiatives and educational seminars as a Student Supervisor. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Nutrition Education Specialist from Framingham State University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Studies / Health Education from Springfield College.
