Maggy Spence currently serves as a Planning Assistant III with the City of Burnaby, having joined in August 2023. Previously, Spence worked as a City Shapers - Youth Facilitator with CityHive Vancouver, delivering civic governance and urban planning workshops to high school students across Metro Vancouver. Spence has also held roles at The University of British Columbia as an Exam Invigilator and as Team Lead for AMS Housing, where educational resources and workshops were developed for students navigating the rental market. Additionally, Spence has experience as a UBC Sustainability Scholar at False Creek Friends Society, a Program Coordinator with Rogers Society, and various positions with YMCA of Greater Vancouver, contributing to community programs and summer camps. Spence holds a Master of Applied Science in Community and Regional Planning from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Victoria.
