Christy Becker Stangland has a diverse work experience in the field of human services. Christy is currently employed by the City of Bellevue, Washington as a Human Service Planner since August 2017. Their previous experience includes working with Hopelink, where they held various roles over a span of 17 years. These roles include Associate Director of Housing and Case Management, Senior Manager, Collaborative Manager, Family Development Specialist, and Shelter Case Manager. Throughout their career, Christy has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a commitment to helping low-income, homeless, and unstably housed families. Christy has played a key role in developing innovative policies and strategies to promote client self-sufficiency and has collaborated with community partners and funders to increase the impact and leverage of services. Additionally, they have been responsible for overseeing program operations, training and mentoring staff, and conducting assessments to identify participant strengths and barriers to self-sufficiency. Christy Becker Stangland obtained their Bachelor's degree in Human Development, Family Studies, and Related Services from Washington State University, attending from 1996 to 2000. Furthermore, they pursued additional education in the form of an Adaptive Leadership program at Leadership Eastside from 2012 to 2014.
