Laurens van der Sijp has a diverse work experience in corporate finance. Laurens is currently working as a Corporate Finance Manager at City ID since February 2022. Prior to this, Laurens worked at Deloitte Nederland for several years. Their roles at Deloitte include Manager M&A, Debt & Capital Advisory from October 2020 to February 2022, Senior Consultant M&A, Debt & Capital Advisory from October 2018 to September 2020, Manager Debt & Capital Advisory, Private Equity team (secondment) from February 2019 to July 2019, Consultant Corporate Finance, and Debt & Capital Advisory from October 2016 to September 2018, and Analyst Corporate Finance, Debt & Capital Advisory from March 2015 to September 2016. Laurens also had a Corporate Finance Internship at Kempen & Co in June 2014 to August 2014.

Laurens van der Sijp completed their education with a Master's Degree in Private Law (Commercial Track) from the University of Amsterdam, which they pursued from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they also obtained a Master's Degree in Business Economics (Finance Track) from the same university between 2012 and 2014. In 2011, Laurens participated in a transition program at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on Private Law. Laurens began their undergraduate studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business Economics from 2008 to 2011.

Additionally, Laurens obtained an Advanced English certification from The Redman Institute in July 2016.
