Irewole Akande

Irewole Akande has a diverse range of work experience. Irewole is currently working as a Product Manager at Microsoft since 2022. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer at City Health Tech, where they developed connected devices to improve community health. Irewole also had a previous stint as a Product Manager at Microsoft in 2021. Before entering the tech industry, Irewole worked as an Electronics Engineer at WPG Americas Inc. from 2017 to 2020. Irewole also had experience as a Career Coach/Mentor at Irewole CCM from 2016 to 2021, guiding individuals in their career development. Their earlier experiences include roles as a Career Coach and Administrative Staff at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where they provided advising and completed administrative tasks. Irewole was also involved in various leadership positions, such as President of the African Student Organization and Vice President of the Union Board. Additionally, they worked as a Service Transition Analyst at Emerson in 2016 and as an Infrastructure Assistant at Emerson in 2015. Irewole was actively involved in the National Society of Black Engineers as a Senator from 2013 to 2015. Prior to their professional career, Irewole gained experience as Head Teacher of the Service Program and Editor in Chief of ROAR Magazine at Loyola Jesuit College.

Irewole Akande's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from SMU Cox School of Business. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from Illinois Institute of Technology. Their secondary education was completed at Loyola Jesuit College, where they obtained a Senior Secondary Certificate in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences.

In addition to their formal education, Irewole Akande has also obtained various certifications. They completed a Certificate in Leadership Development from the Illinois Institute of Technology Leadership Academy in April 2016. Furthermore, they obtained the certifications of "Automotive FAE Champion" and "Field Application Engineering Champion" from Micron Technology in January 2020.
