Janel L. Forde is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the City and County of Denver, a position held since August 2023. Previously, Janel served as a Partner and Associate Director at Boston Consulting Group from July 2022 to September 2023. Janel held various leadership roles within the Illinois Department of Central Management Services as Director from January 2019 to June 2022, and as Chief Operating Officer for the Illinois State Board of Education from October 2015 to May 2016. Janel's experience also includes serving as Chief Operating Officer for the City of Chicago, where oversight of city operations was maintained under Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Prior roles include Deputy Commissioner for the City of Chicago, Director for Chicago Public Schools, and positions at The Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup. Janel earned an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School.
