Irene Aguilar has a diverse and extensive background in both medicine and public service. Currently serving as a Senator for the State of Colorado, Irene Aguilar also holds the position of Program Director for the City and County of Denver since October 2018, along with past leadership roles within the Office of State Senator Irene Aguilar from 2010 to October 2018. Previous experience includes a significant medical career as a Physician at Denver Health from July 1989 to November 2012, and current membership on the DHHA Authority Board of Directors. Irene Aguilar earned an MD in Medicine from the University of Chicago - Pritzker School of Medicine and holds an AB in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, alongside prior education at the University of Sussex.
