Joshua Carter

Joshua Carter has a strong background in astrophysics research. Joshua started their career as a Graduate Student in Physics at MIT, where they completed a highly-cited dissertation and published three papers in the Astrophysical Journal. Joshua'sresearch focused on transiting exoplanet light curve analysis, including the development of analytic formulas to predict uncertainties and covariances of transit model parameters.

After completing their Ph.D., Joshua worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at MIT for a year. Joshua then joined the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics as a Hubble Fellow, where they led their own independent research program and secured grant funding of over $100K annually. Joshua'sresearch at this institution resulted in several high profile publications and important discoveries, including the identification of the first multi-eclipsing stellar system and the most precisely characterized rocky extrasolar planet.

Currently, Joshua is a Quantitative Researcher at Citadel Securities, where their exact role and responsibilities are not specified.

Joshua Carter completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics and Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2000 to 2004. Joshua then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2009.
