Michael Wigle

Director Of Information Technology at CINCINNATI ASSOCIATION FOR THE BLIND

Michael Wigle has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology and accessibility. Michael started their career as an Access Technology Specialist at the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired in 1999 and worked in this role until 2012. During this time, they implemented various initiatives to improve accessibility for persons with visual impairments, such as converting a paper-based client tracking system into an electronic system and teaching staff how to make communications accessible. Wigle then became the IT Manager at the same organization from 2012 until 2022, where they further enhanced accessibility by implementing a new telephony system and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Currently, they serve as the Director of Information Technology at the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired, starting in 2022. Prior to this, Wigle worked as an Academic Assistant and Computer Systems Technology Instructor at NAIT, where they provided tutoring, maintained an Access Database, and trained individuals on adaptive technologies.

Michael Wigle attended NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 1995 to 1997, where they pursued a degree in Computer Systems Technology with a focus on computers. Additionally, they completed various certifications throughout their career, including Amateur Extra from the Federal Communications Commission in November 2020, MCP: Microsoft Certified Professional from Microsoft in April 2017, Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in May 2016, Network+ ce from CompTIA in May 2014, Youth Protection Training from the Boy Scouts of America in February 2014, Server+ from CompTIA in April 2013, Micro-purchases and Section 508 from GSA in February 2012, Window-Eyes Beginner/Intermediate Script Writing from GW Micro in April 2011, Window-Eyes Basic and Intermediate Training from GW Micro in October 2008, and Troubleshooting and Support Workshop from Ai Squared in February 2008.
