Edith L. Escalona currently serves as Senior Managing Counsel for the Government Business Segment at Cigna, having held the position since May 2021. Prior to this, Edith L. Escalona worked at Optum as Senior Associate General Counsel from September 2018 to May 2021 and at UnitedHealth Group as Associate General Counsel from February 2014 to May 2021, where involvement included Medicare Advantage health plan counsel for UnitedHealthcare of South Florida. Earlier experience includes serving as Counsel at Humana, focusing on regulatory and operational legal matters for Florida and Puerto Rico's commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid programs from March 2008 to February 2014, and Associate General Counsel at First American from September 2005 to March 2008. Education includes a Juris Doctor from Florida State University (2002-2005) and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government/International Relations from Florida International University (1998-2001).
