Colin Docherty is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in DevOps, software engineering, and network operations. Currently, at Ciena since November 2021, Colin holds the positions of Senior Manager and Principal Engineer in DevOps, Tooling, and Release. Prior to this, Colin served as a Principal Software Engineer at AT&T from January 2015 to November 2021, where responsibilities included architecting the Open Source Disaggregated Network Operating System (DANOS) and developing high availability software for vRouter. Colin's earlier career includes a role as Senior Software Engineer and Team Leader at Cisco Systems, specializing in First Hop Redundancy Protocols, and a summer internship as a Software Test Engineer at Amor Group. Colin holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh and has additional qualifications in Amateur Radio Communications.
