John Vargas Pérez is the founder and leader of the OWASP Peru Chapter, a position held since November 2008, dedicated to promoting web application security among IT professionals and enthusiasts. Currently serving as an Ethical Hacking Instructor at CIBERTEC and Cybersecurity Manager at Layer 8 Security, John has previously worked as a Security Analyst and Researcher at Scytl Innovating Democracy and held roles in various capacities such as Security Consultant and Instructor in multiple organizations. With extensive experience in penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and security consulting, John Vargas Pérez has contributed to numerous projects across financial, governmental, and retail sectors, focusing on ethical hacking techniques and compliance with security standards. Education includes a degree from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.
