Michelle Locke is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in food, travel, and general news reporting. As the Books & Special Editions Editor at Christopher Kimball's Milk Street since August 2016, Michelle focuses on culinary literature. Previously, Michelle contributed freelance stories to the Associated Press from April 1992 to March 2018, serving as a Supervisory Correspondent in the East San Francisco Bay Area, where notable coverage included significant national news events and higher education issues. Additional experience includes positions as a contributing writer for Foodservice Consultants Society International and Scholastic, covering trends in food service management and K-12 education, respectively. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
