Sam Garaway has a diverse work experience, starting in 2009 as a Service Person at Hirepool. From 2010 to 2013, they worked at Agoge as the Auckland Branch Manager, where they successfully managed the Hamilton Branch before being assigned to the Auckland branch. In 2014, they joined Christians Against Poverty as the Church Partnership Director and later became the Chief Operating Officer from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, they took on the role of General Manager at Christians Against Poverty NZ before becoming the Chief Executive Officer later that year. Additionally, from 2006 to 2015, Sam was a Trustee/Founder at Streetworks, where they played an instrumental role in establishing and growing the charitable trust in Hamilton.
From 2006 to 2010, Sam Garaway attended The University of Waikato, where they earned a Bachelor of Management Studies degree in Strategic Management & Human Resource Management.
