Mehmet Kayacan has extensive experience in various leadership and consulting roles. Since November 2016, Mehmet has been a consultant at Christelijke Mutualiteit (CM) / Mutualité chrétienne (MC). Additionally, Mehmet has been a board member of the Turkse Unie van België since January 2004 and served as a city council member in Stad Genk from January 2013 to December 2024, representing the CD&V party and expressing gratitude for the collaborative years with the team. Previous positions include vice-chairman of vzw Abrahamhuis from January 2009 to April 2019 and chairman of Moskee Kolderbos from January 2001 to April 2019. Earlier in the career, Mehmet spent nearly 27 years as a maintenance mechanic at Ford Motor Company from February 1988 to January 2015. Educational qualifications include a degree in Social Cultural Worker from CVO Heverlee and ssh Heverlee, completed between 2014 and 2016, and an A2 in Industrial Electronics obtained between 1980 and 1987.
