George Whitbeck, PMP, ITIL V4 Managing Professional, has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. George began their career in 2000 as the CIO and IT Department Head for an organization with six major subdivisions in three states. During this time, they web-enabled mainframe-based moving claim data and created a multi-domain, single sign-on web link in the 170K person organization. George also drove the implementation of desktop and network outsourcing project of over 1000 workstations, laptops, and servers in three states.
In 2003, they became the Network Branch Head and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative for the United States Marine Corps. In this role, they were the Chief Operating Officer for classified and unclassified networks for 2000 users, including 15 executives. George was also the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative of the largest DoD network, command & control, and desktop support contract in Europe, valued at $203M over a 10 year period of delivery with a contractor staff of 100. George also conceived and supervised the implementation of a first ever tunneling of US classified network over a commercial, home DSL connection for use by senior military officers.
From 2006 to 2007, George Whitbeck worked as the Deputy, Chief Information Officer for the US European Command. George authored and vetted data communications capacity requirements for upcoming US Africa Command's \"to be\" workforce of unknown size that was months away from Advance Party arrival and years away from full operational capability.
From 2007 to 2015, George Whitbeck worked as a Sr. Program Manager for General Dynamics Information Technology. In this role, they oversaw the US Army INSCOM's upgrade of Intelligence Community desktop computing environment and led and worked on numerous proposals, one of which had a value of over $200M.
Since 2018, George Whitbeck has been the Program Director for Choisys Technology, Inc. In this role, they expertly managed ~175 BMC enterprise software installation and O&M projects tracking scope, cost, schedule, risk, and quality.
George Whitbeck, PMP, ITIL V4 Managing Professional, has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
